The new Powershot A480 by Canon
Categories: Portable

Canon released an upgrade to the old workhorse, the Canon Powershot A470. At the first glance, we see a simplified layout which makes things easier for us amateurs. Although an entry level compact, it incorporates a 10MP sensor, a 2.5″ LCD and lots of nifty other features such as Motion and Face Detection. You can choose between any of the colors between silver, red, blue or black. There are dedicated buttons for zoom, mode and playback.
There is a wide range of 15 shooting modes such as Kids & Pets, Sunset and also Indoor modes. This saves you a lot of hassle when you want to get spontaneous shots. Plus an additional benefit comes in the form of a bright LCD which is more than sufficient at 2.5″ and a perfectly capable 3.3X optical zoom. Powered by the conventional AA batteries, so it is better to keep a pack handy.
The PowerShot A480 will be available from February 2009 priced at £129.00.
