MS releases Windows 7 beta as a free Vista upgrade
Categories: Desktops

Microsoft, for the first time in history are releasing this beta as a free upgrade for anyone and everyone who want to give Windows 7 a try. Windows 7 had garnered positive reviews from everyone and is touted to be the real Windows XP replacement instead of Windows Vista which was released in 2007. Vista received a lot of brickbats and was just called a buggy, showy OS with no real use to anyone. The long list of incompatible hardware & software led to its downfall and even though things improved considerably with the Service Pack 1 but people were not ready to forget.
Microsoft is clearly trying to appease a lot of these groups many of whom have been loyal MS supporters since the release of DOS way back in 1992. Windows 7 development chief, Steven Sinofsky however insisted that they would have done it earlier but were limited by technology at that time. And with the fantastic value offered by Windows 7, this may well turn out to be the “apple” of everyone’s eye!
