Intel following AMD, also to bring out lower end CPU
Categories: Desktops

Looks like notebook owners are the top priority for every manufacturer right now. We are being overburdened with laptops, notebooks, netbooks and now apparently a new range of laptops are going to be introduced with CPUs that will be between the Atom (found in netbooks) and the Core 2 Duo (found in laptops). More specifically for the laptops priced in the $700-$900 price range. Like we need another confusing term for laptops in this range.
Anyways, this news was not surprising considering the announcement by AMD to release the Neo which is going to be faster and more powerful than the Atom and specifically designed for “ultrathin” notebooks. The general reaction of the crowd is just of curiosity since it would be very difficult to justify the purpose of these ultrathin notebooks.
No information on availability or date of release as of now.
