Google have finally got their hands out of their pockets and really started pushing ahead with advertisements on the YouTube site to try and squeeze every penny they can and start to get back some of that Billion Dollars they paid for it.

The way Google are hoping to achieve this extra revenue, adding affiliate links to related content. At the moment they are adding the “Click to Buy” links to the Amazon and iTunes store from videos with related music. In the future though they could add links to a sorts of related content, such as movies games and product reviews. This is a simple non intrusive way for Google to get more money out of YouTube in a way that will add value to the user.

YouTube will have to watch where they add these links though because if they add them to copy righted content then it could blow open a way for the music industry to sue them.
