DIY media server with the Via Artigo 2000
Categories: Miscellaneous

If you’re not mighty pleased with the current NAS offerings in the market, you are definitely meant to have a look at this. The new Artigo 2000 from Via promises to deliver all that you are looking for. Five inches across, and that too in a stylish black box.
Within the box, you get a motherboard, Ethernet and a 1.5GHz CPU. There are slots available for SATA drives, only two possible here though. This is clearly for those who are interested in setting up their own NAS servers as there is no operating system bundled and you are allowed to do as you please! From the FreeNAS to Windows, you can use whatever you desire.
Though it might seem like a good HTPC due to the jazzed up looks, the specs are not suitable and will not live up to the expectations. Will cost you around $300. For Wi-Fi you have to shell another $50. Go for it, we say!
